ADHD & Co-occuring Conditions

When ADHD is diagnosed in adults, it is frequently accompanied by a co-occurring condition(s) such as substance or behavioral addictions, learning disabilities, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, and PTSD. Those who are not treated for their ADHD can also suffer from success deprivation, and low self-esteem. It is important that ADHD and all other co-occurring are treated. If you grew up with undiagnosed and untreated ADHD you also have a greater chance of experiencing trauma. This is especially true if you lived in a family where one or more parents had untreated ADHD and/or an addictive disorder.
